1 Corinthians 7:10-16 On Divorce

Pastors and Bible Scholars often quote the words of Jesus in Matthew and Mark as the end-all teaching on marriage, divorce, and remarriage. But Jesus only answered specific questions. Paul gives a fuller treatment in this chapter.

1 Corinthians 7:1-9 On Marriage

Responding to questions from the Church, Paul begins a discourse on marriage, divorce, remarriage, and celibacy. In these verses Paul establishes the foundation.

1 Corinthians 6:12-20 More Immorality

Some in the church in Corinth had some serious trouble with sexual immorality. Paul writes to them to identify the problem, and to exhort them to live in sexual purity.

1 Corinthians 6:1-11 Our Day in Court

This was a troublesome church. Members taking one-another to court over trivial cases. Paul gives them a strong rebuke, and points out how in their quest to “win”, God is defamed.

1 Corinthians 5:1-13 Immorality in the Church

Mercy! That church in Corinth had problems. Reminds me of some stories of churches I read about in America today. How does Paul instruct the church to deal with sexual immorality? Not like we hear across our land. Tune in, if you have the courage.

1 Corinthians 4:6-21 Against Arrogance

Paul finishes this discourse on the divisions in the church by ascribing the divisions to arrogance. He demonstrates that any wisdom men may have is derived from God, it is not due to their innate ability, nor is it particular to them.

1 Corinthians 3:16-23 False Teachers

Paul said, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, that “if anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him.” But I thought He is a God of love, so what does this mean? Let’s find out.

1 Corinthians 3:10-15 The Foundation

When the foundation of a building is not right, the whole building suffers. Paul set a good foundation, but he cautions those who build on it to be careful. There are many today who are not careful with the way they build the Church.

1 Corinthians 3:1-10 A Skilled Architect

Paul pinpoints the root of the divisions in the church in Corinth; and this root gives birth to all the other problems in the church. The root is an unwillingness to mature in their walk with Jesus Christ.
