Galatians 6:11-18 The Conclusion

The conclusion to this book, penned by Paul in his own hand. This is a succinct overview of the key articles Paul wrote about.

Matthew 26-28 Prelude to Galatians 6:1-5

It will help us understand Paul’s exhortation in Galatians 6:1-5 about bearing burdens if we consider the ultimate “burden bearer”, the Lord Jesus. This study will be a prelude to our next study in Galatians.

Galatians 5:16-26 Walk by the Spirit, Led by the Spirit

In this section Paul makes a contrast between the person who governs their life according to the leading and the rule of the Holy Spirit, and the person who governs their life according to the desires of their flesh. And this in the Church!

Galatians 5:13-15 Freedom From … Freedom to…

In Galatian 5:1 Paul records that “For freedom Christ has set us free”. In verse 13, he records “For you were called to freedom, brothers.” There is an interesting correlation between these remarks. Let’s explore that.

Galatians 5:7-15 Marks of a False Teacher

Paul sees 6 marks of a false teacher in this section. I have drawn heavily from the InterVarsity New Testament Commentary for the outline of this sermon. Paul deals pretty harshly with false teachers, but many today are more willing to give them a pass. Maybe we shouldn’t.

Galatians 4:21-31 A Tale of Two Covenants

Paul uses an allegory to explain the fallacy of reverting back to the observation of the Law after having put faith in Jesus as the Messiah of Israel. This is a good lesson for all to learn.

Galatians 4:12-20 I Am Perplexed By You

Having clarified the doctrinal fallacy the Galatian churches are falling prey to Paul now begins with a soft-hearted approach to gain back their confidence. He begins by reminding them of the beginnings of the churches and concludes “Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth?”
