Colossians 1:27-29 Christ in you, the Hope of Glory

It is unimaginable, what is the fullness of the hope of glory because of Christ in us. Paul here touches on that, and we tie it together with 2 Timothy 3:16-17. We have a certain responsibility in discipleship and sanctification.

2 Corinthians 7:13-8:7 Complete Confidence

Paul closes the section of this book on defining and defending his Apostolic gift bragging on both the Church and Titus. Then in chapters 8-9 he begins a discussion on giving. Again, he has complete confidence the church will do the right thing.

Ruth 3:14-4:12 Marriage Negotiations

Ruth has presented herself to Boaz as one to be redeemed as a close relative. Boaz assembles the town council and the closest redeemer to present the case of Naomi and Ruth to them. Boaz negotiates with the closest redeemer for the right of redemption.

Colossians 1:24-27 Stewardship of Ministry

We venture into some discussion of the ministry given to Paul by God, and his stewardship of it. Which promotes conversation about the ministries God has entrusted to us.

2 Corinthians 7:5-13 Fighting Without, Fear Within

Paul comes back to the flow of the letter from chapter 2 verse 13 regarding the trip to Macedonia. He discloses his happiness in the good news from Titus, and some of the struggles he faced while waiting for the report from Titus.

Ruth 3:1-13 The Proposition

Naomi instructs Ruth how to approach Boaz as her Kinsman Redeemer. Ruth follows Naomi’s instructions to the letter, and in effect, she proposes to Boaz. This is such an intriguing story; you will love this.

Colossians 1:21-23 Reconciled, Holy, and Blameless

In our last study we looked at perhaps the best statement on the Deity of Jesus the Christ in all of the New Testament. In this study Paul dives into the benefits accruing to us via the death of the Christ: Reconciled, Holy, and Blameless before God.

2 Corinthians 7:1-4 Die Together, Live Together

After giving the Church what I call a “Promise Sandwich”, Paul states again his love for them. This is significant because under the influence of false teachers and false apostles they have abused Paul and scorned his reputation.

Ruth 2:14-23 Day 1 of Gleaning

Ruth finishes her first day of gleaning in her new homeland. She finishes her work, and returns home to Naomi to give her a full report of the day’s activities. What a grand day it turned out to be!
